Three Israeli soldiers were injured when about a dozen Hamas members launched an attack on the Israeli base near Khan Yunis on Wednesday morning, reports The Times of Israel. One of them is said to have serious injuries.
The clash started when armed men emerged from a tunnel near the base and began shooting with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades, according to the Israeli military.
At least ten of the attackers are said to have been killed. Hamas' armed branch, the al-Qassam brigades, confirms the attack via Telegram.
In Israeli media, the clash is described as unusual. 22 months of Israeli bombings against Gaza have significantly weakened the militarily capabilities of the terrorist-stamped Hamas.
