54-year-old Eli Sharabi was kidnapped from Kibbutz Be'eri, where he lived with his wife and two daughters.
He endured 491 days in the Gaza tunnels, hoping to one day reunite with his family. He only learned that they had been murdered when he was released in a prisoner exchange in January 2025.
Since his release, Eli Sharabi has written the book "The Hostage," which became the fastest-selling book in Israeli history.
In May, the book will be published in Swedish, and in early June Sharabi will come to Sweden, among other things to take part in an evening of conversation arranged by Jewish Culture in Sweden.
