Goldin was killed in combat during the 2014 Gaza War at the age of 23. Since then, his family has been pushing to get his remains back.
All this time, his family has lived with deep anguish, and now they will be allowed to bury him in Israel, said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to Israeli media during Sunday's cabinet meeting.
The body was reportedly found in a tunnel under Rafah in southern Gaza on Saturday.
If the remains are identified as Hadar Goldin, it would mean that four dead hostages remain in Gaza. Under the current ceasefire agreement, all of them are to be returned to Israel, which in exchange will hand over 15 dead Palestinians for every body released from Gaza.
