The three Israelis are moving around the two women Arbel Yehoud, 29, and Agam Berger, 19, as well as the 80-year-old man Gadi Mozes, according to the office of Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The five Thai citizens have not been named.
On Saturday, three men will be released, according to the office.
The hostages are being released as a result of the ceasefire negotiated between Hamas and Israel in mid-January.
Hamas will release 33 Israeli hostages in the first phase of the ceasefire, as well as the remaining hostages who are still alive in the second phase. In the third phase, Hamas will hand over the remains of dead hostages.
Earlier in the week, Hamas submitted a list of 25 living hostages to be released in the first weeks. The eight whose names are not on the list are feared to be dead.
Israel will release over 730 Palestinians from Israeli prisons, as well as over 1,100 who have been detained by the military in Gaza as part of the war.
Around 250 people were taken hostage in the October attack on Israel in 2023.
