Despite dominance from AIK – currently in third place in the table – it was Halmstad who took the lead with a dream goal in the 20th minute when Pawel Chrupalla put the ball in the far corner.
Nine minutes later, Halmstad counterattacked and a free Naeem Mohammed could easily increase the lead to 2–0.
We are very dissatisfied that Halmstad get two such easy goals. We do not really have the quality and the keys to unlock a low-standing team, says Anton Salétros to Max.
He continues.
If we want to be involved, we must win a match like today.
Halmstad's Marcus Olsson is pleased with the win.
These are three important points, a big win for us, he says to Max. We were stable at the back, forward we were effective. We are clinical today.
He continues:
Against AIK, it feels extra nice.
The win places Halmstad in ninth place in Allsvenskan for the time being.
IFK Göteborg beat Sirius 3–1 after two late goals.
