Halland County Authorizes Wolf Hunt After Five Attacks on Domestic Animals

The County Administrative Board (county-level government authority) in Halland County has authorized a protective hunt for a wolf.

The decision follows several confirmed wolf attacks on domestic animals in Halland. Since October 2025, five attacks on sheep, goats and horses have been documented.

Hunting may be conducted within a designated area in the municipalities of Falkenberg and Halmstad from October 7 to October 21.

"We assess that the risk of further attacks is high," says Martin Broberg, an environmental protection officer at the County Administrative Board (the county-level government authority), in a press release.
