Hollywood star Haley Joel Osment was arrested in early April at a ski resort in California. He is now suspected of drunkenness in a public place and drug possession, and on footage from the police's body cameras, he is heard slurring anti-Semitic insults to the police.
Osment is now apologizing for his behavior. In a statement, as referred to by People, he says that he is horrified by his own behavior and that he has felt very bad since he lost his home in the fires in Los Angeles at the beginning of the year.
"But that is no excuse for saying the despicable word. From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to everyone who has been hurt by what I said. What came out of my mouth was trash, and I have failed the Jewish community and it makes me completely devastated. I expect no forgiveness, but I promise to atone for my mistake", he says.
Haley Joel Osment broke through as a child actor and appeared, among other things, in "Forest Gump" in 1994 and in the horror film "The Sixth Sense" in 1999.
He has had problems with the law before: in 2006, he received a three-year suspended sentence after being charged with drunk driving, and in 2018, the police were called when Osment was involved in a fight at an airport in Las Vegas.
