England football legend Gary Lineker, who was forced to leave the BBC and lose his job as a World Cup anchor after being accused of anti-Semitism, will now host a daily World Cup podcast, which will be streamed on Netflix.

It is Lineker's video podcast "The Rest is Football" - which he has with former stars Micah Richards and Alan Shearer - that is now being picked up by Netflix during the Men's World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer, reports the BBC.

One episode per day will be released during the championship and the podcast will be filmed in New York.

Gary Lineker was the presenter of BBC's "Match of the Day" for 26 years, but left the classic Premier League program when the season ended this spring.

The idea was then that he would continue on the channel and lead the BBC's World Cup broadcasts in 2026, but this spring Lineker lost that job as well.

In May, he was accused of anti-Semitism after sharing a video clip on Instagram with the caption "Zionism explained in less than two minutes" along with a rat symbol. The clip was sent by the Palestine Lobby group.
