Hackers have obtained data from more than 200 million users on Pornhub, one of the world's most visited porn sites.

The group calling itself ShinyHunters allegedly gained access to premium members' search history, views, email addresses and whereabouts, The Guardian reports.

According to the Reuters news agency, which has been in contact with the group, the hackers are demanding payment in bitcoin in order not to publish the data and delete it.

Pornhub says in a statement that a number of users were affected by an attack on a company they previously hired for data analysis, but that they stopped working with it in 2021, so the data is likely not current.

Cybersecurity company Sophus tells The Guardian that it has seen no evidence of data being leaked on so-called leak sites or chats connected to the hacker group.
