"Winning such a prize is a big deal for Häcken and something we are very proud of," says club manager Marcus Jodin.
It is the Gothenburg club's "zone development work" initiative that earned them the award. It involves Häcken distributing resources to several grassroots teams in the Gothenburg area to strengthen the football environment.
"We try to listen to the clubs in our area and contribute what they need, because we need development environments where young people have the opportunity to dream big," says academy director Anders Wahrnberg.
With the award, Häcken receives 10,000 euros, almost 110,000 kronor, from UEFA.
