It was a dark end to the first half for Häcken. Simon Gefvert scored the opening goal for the visitors in the 34th minute, and just under five minutes later Bonaventure Lendambi made it 2-0.
To top it all off, Häcken defender Leo Väisänen was sent off just before halftime after bringing down Lendambi outside the penalty area.

In the second half, Mattias Hellisdal sealed the match when he scored 3-0 from a free kick. Christ Wawa reduced the score to 1-3 in the closing stages, but Häcken did not come any closer than that.
Västerås are closing in on Häcken in the table and are now only two points behind in sixth place.
