Jørgen Juve has been Norway's top scorer since June 1933 – but Erling Braut Haaland is getting closer.
The 24-year-old star scored the decisive 2–1 in the Nations League match against Austria and is thus only one goal away from equaling Juve's goal record of 33 full hits.
The Norwegians started strongest at Ullevål in Oslo and took the lead through Felix Myhre's goal in the ninth minute. Austria equalized before halftime when Marcel Sabitzer's goal was approved after VAR review.
Haaland, who earlier in the week was goalless away against Kazakhstan (0–0), also had VAR on his side when he scored his 32nd national team goal in the 80th minute.
Prior to that, Martin Ødegaard was substituted out with a suspected injury.
Slovenia, 3–0 against Kazakhstan, and Norway top Group 3 in the B division with four points.
