Ten goals in the first five matches in Premier League.

Jubilee with his 100th goal in his 105th PL match last time.

But at St James' Park in Newcastle, the goal streak ended in the top match where injured Alexander Isak was missing in the home team.

League-leading Manchester City came into play the day after Spanish midfielder Rodri was operated on for the serious cruciate ligament injury that will keep him out of play for the rest of the season.

Newcastle was the more playful team in the first half, but didn't get to the really hot chances.

Instead, Manchester City struck with a classy goal.

The back struck

Jack Grealish spun past former English national team colleague Kieran Trippier on the left flank and played forward to Josko Gvardiol, who calmly angled in the leading goal in the 35th minute.

But the home team equalized through Anthony Gordon on a penalty after he himself was brought down by the visitors' goalkeeper Ederson in a clear scoring opportunity.

Newcastle called for another penalty just a few minutes later when Joelinton fell in the penalty area, but was denied.

Norwegian goal machine Haaland, top scorer last season, had no big match, but could still have become the match winner in stoppage time. His header in a good position went straight to home goalkeeper Nick Pope.

New table top

The blow was also double for the league leaders. Not only did they drop points for the second match in a row, but they also lost the league lead.

Later on Saturday, Liverpool and Wolverhampton clashed, and it was the Reds who came out on top. Liverpool took the lead through Ibrahima Konaté, but Wolves came back in the second half.

Instead, it would take a penalty from Mohamed Salah to secure all three points, which means that Liverpool climbs up as the new table top in Premier League.
