Haaland was named man of the match after scoring two goals as Norway beat Brazil 2-1 in the round of 16 late on Sunday evening, Swedish time. With those two goals, the Norwegian has now moved into joint first place in the World Cup scoring chart with seven goals. He shares the lead with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé.

"It's a bit surreal to be here with the greatest players. Of course I want to perform in the World Cup, but scoring seven goals for Norway is special and unreal," says Haaland.

Later that night, England beat Mexico, meaning Norway and England will face off in the quarter-finals on Saturday. There will be plenty of familiar faces for Haaland. The England squad includes several of his Manchester City teammates and Premier League opponents. He was also good friends with England's Jude Bellingham when the pair were teammates at Borussia Dortmund.

Before the match against Brazil, Haaland described Norway's chances of winning as "very small." Confidence seems to have grown now.

"The way we played (against Brazil) shows that Norway is a fantastic football team and that we are one of the better teams in Europe, and in the world," says Haaland.
