+ Liverpool champions – but the battle for CL spots continues
Premier League has five direct spots for the Champions League next season, and so far, it's only Liverpool who are clear for the tournament. Arsenal are also on a good path, but nothing is certain.
With four rounds left, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Aston Villa are fighting for the remaining spots. Only seven points separate seventh-place Aston Villa from third-place Manchester City, who have one more game played.
+ Inter's nightmare week – Napoli leads the Scudetto hunt
In just eight days, Inter lost two league matches (against Bologna and Roma) and lost their narrow lead to second-place Napoli. In between, they also lost to rival Milan in the cup final.
Thus, it's now Antonio Conte's Napoli who lead the chase for the Scudetto, as the Italian league title is called.
If the two teams finish with the same number of points after 38 rounds, regardless of goal difference, a league final awaits, where the two teams will play a decisive match.
Inter are also still in the Champions League and need to fight on two fronts. The first semifinal against Barcelona ended 3–3.
+ Real close to a failed season – Barça pulls away
Elimination from the Champions League, loss in the cup final, and second place in the league. Real Madrid are heading towards a title-less season after losing the El Clásico final of the Copa del Rey (domestic cup) to Barcelona
It gets even worse as their main rival Barcelona is heading towards the opposite.
The cup title is already secured, they lead the league with a four-point lead with five rounds remaining and are in the Champions League semifinal.
In nine days, the teams will meet again in the season's last El Clásico.
+ Harry Kane close to his first major title
He has waited a long time, Harry Kane. But now the 31-year-old goal-scorer is close to lifting a major title for the first time in his career.
His Bayern Munich can already secure the title in the German league Bundesliga this weekend, and they lead with an eight-point lead with three rounds remaining. In that case, it will also be revenge for the big club, which missed the league title last year after Bayer Leverkusen's successful season.
Bayern Munich will meet Leipzig on Saturday.
+ Gyökeres close to the golden boot – despite the "handicap"
The golden boot is awarded to Europe's top scorer during the season, and beforehand, it usually leans towards someone playing in the top leagues (England, Spain, France, Germany) winning. The reason is that their goals give two points per goal in the point count.
For Viktor Gyökeres, who plays in the Portuguese league, a goal, however, only gives 1.5 points. Despite this, the Swedish super striker is on his way to victory.
With his 38 league goals, he leads with 57 points. One point ahead of Mohamed Salah, who has scored 28 league goals.
Gyökeres' Sporting Lissabon has three league matches left of the season, and leads on the same points. The next match for the red-hot Swede is on Sunday, when his team faces Gil Vicente.
