The UN Secretary-General António Guterres urges Israel and Iran to discontinue the attacks.
"Israeli bombing of Iranian nuclear power plants. Iranian rocket attacks in Tel Aviv. Enough escalation. Time to stop", he writes in a post on X.
"Peace and diplomacy must prevail."
The UN Security Council was convened on Friday for a crisis meeting on the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
