UN Secretary-General António Guterres is calling on Israel to lift its ban on 37 humanitarian organizations providing emergency aid to Gaza. Guterres is “deeply concerned” by the development.

"This latest action will further exacerbate the humanitarian crisis facing the Palestinians," Guterres's spokesman Stéphane Dujarric said.

Israel has ordered the organizations to disclose detailed information about their Palestinian personnel. According to Israel, the rules are intended to prevent organizations accused of supporting terrorism from operating in Palestinian areas.

The organizations to be closed from March 1 include the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Oxfam and Doctors Without Borders (MSF), which has 1,200 staff in the Palestinian territories, the majority of whom are in Gaza.
