The businessman died last week in Florida, where he lived with his family.
"We are shocked. You know that life doesn't last forever on earth. But it's still a shock when you hear that someone you've known for a long time has passed away," says Gunilla Persson.
The man ran a successful business and was so wealthy that for a time he was on the financial magazine Forbes' list of the 400 richest people in the United States.
According to Persson, she had a relationship with the man, who was married at the time, for a number of years. For several years, they were in a dispute over the amount of alimony.
Gunilla Persson believes that her daughter's inheritance will now be large.
She will become one of the richest people in Sweden of her generation.
