The theft occurred in 2018, when a police officer, in violation of regulations, left his service weapon in the car during an errand at Bromma Blocks in Stockholm, police spokesperson Ola Österling told Ekot.
The incident led to a disciplinary case that resulted in the police officer receiving a pay deduction. After the shooting, the weapon was found by middle school children in a wooded area near a school in Uppsala.
Six people, all young and some under 18, were shot in the lower body when the suspected 13-year-old opened fire on Södra Kungsgatan in Gävle on the night of Saturday, Oct. 4 last year.
