The Minister of Culture opted not to attend the Guldbagge Awards this year and is instead attending the Gastronomic Academy's awards ceremony.
"It shows what value this government places on culture, simply because it is being cut everywhere," Lena Endre tells Aftonbladet in an interview on the red carpet.
Director Tarik Saleh says that the Minister of Culture's absence sends signals.
"Choosing not to come shows that she doesn't care. It's sad."
Fares Fares believes that the minister chose to skip one of the largest cultural events in favor of something that has nothing to do with culture.
"We don't need that Minister of Culture," he tells TV4.
