A decree effectively banning all opposition was announced late Friday. The announcement came two months after junta leader Doumbouya was sworn in as president.
The decision was announced by the minister responsible for territorial administration, citing the opposition parties' "failure to fulfill their obligations."
The decree also stipulates that the assets belonging to opposition groups will be seized.
Doumbouya led the military coup that forced President Alpha Condé from power in September 2021. He was sworn in as president for an indefinite term, despite previously promising not to run.
