What: Women's World Cup qualifiers, second match.
Where: Sportski Centar FSS, Stara Pazova, Serbia.
When: Saturday at 4:00 PM.
TV/radio: SVT2, SVT Play and P4 Radiosporten.
The opposition: While Sweden started the World Cup qualifiers with a 1-0 win away to Italy, Serbia lost 1-3 away to Denmark. The last time Sweden and Serbia met was in the European Championship play-offs at the end of 2024. Then Sweden won 2-0 away and a 6-0 home win.
Keep an eye out: Jelena Cankovic was missing from the European Championship play-offs, but now the midfield star is back. The 30-year-old was one of the best players at Rosengård in Sweden before moving to English giants Chelsea in 2022. She is now playing for another Super League team: Brighton.
Injuries/illnesses: The entire Swedish team participated in Thursday's training, including Stina Blackstenius. The Arsenal striker missed the Italy match for family reasons, but rejoined the squad on Wednesday evening. She is available for play, but probably not for the full 90 minutes.
The new national team: The Swedish starting eleven against Italy had an average age of 25, with three teenagers on the pitch. Nevertheless, the team performed impressively well, and debutant centre-back Bella Andersson was highly praised after the match.
