Timothée Chalamet as a table-tennis star, a controversial drama about Michael Jackson and Alex Schulman's directorial debut are among the films expected in 2026. There are also new releases from both Christopher Nolan and Ruben Östlund. Here are the movies that will be talked about in 2026.

"Marty Supreme" (premieres 6/2).

Timothée Chalamet plays Marty "Supreme" Mauser, who not only tricks his way through life in 1950s New York but is also a world-class table tennis player.

"The Port" (27/2).

Tear-jerking drama starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal as Agnes Hathaway and William Shakespeare, grieving the death of their eleven-year-old son, Hamnet.

"Michael" (24/4).

Antoine Fuqua's biographical drama about Michael Jackson has been delayed for legal reasons. The question is how much of the superstar's darker side the director wants - and is allowed - to show. Jaafar Jackson plays the King of Pop.

"Disclosure Day" (12/6).

Steven Spielberg's highly anticipated new science fiction film is about UFOs and stars Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, and Colin Firth.

"The Odyssey" (17/7).

After the success of "Oppenheimer," director Christopher Nolan has taken on the story of Odysseus, with Matt Damon as the ancient hero.

"Archipelago" (9/10).

Alex Schulman makes his debut as a film director with a drama about the relationship between three fathers (Gustaf Skarsgård, Fares Fares, and Linus Wahlgren) who handle a school trip in different ways.

"Digger" (October).

Tom Cruise stars in Alejandro González Iñárritu's new comedy, which reportedly tells the story of how the world's most powerful man tries to save humanity from something he himself has unleashed.

"Avengers: Doomsday" (December).

Judgment Day is here, and a large superhero team led by Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Anthony Mackie), and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) joins forces to fight Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.).

"The Moment" (not determined).

Pop star Charli XCX stars as herself in a mockumentary of sorts based on her own acclaimed Brat tour, with Alexander Skarsgård in one of the roles.

"Damn Men" (not determined).

Andrev Walden's acclaimed novel is being made into a film with Aliette Opheim as the mother. Filip Berg, Joel Spira, and Viktor Norén play some of the bad guys.

"The Entertainment System Is Down" (not determined).

True to his custom, Ruben Östlund has already revealed the plot of his new film: the TV system breaks down on a long-haul flight and the passengers deal with it in different ways. And yes, everyone dies in the end. Östlund hopes to finish the film by May and the Cannes Film Festival, which has so far given him two Palme d'Ors.

"The Social Reckoning" (not established).

16 years after "The Social Network," Aaron Sorkin once again turns his attention to Facebook to portray the misery social media has caused. Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison star.
