The 2026 Winter Olympics already had a soft start on Wednesday, but tonight the official opening ceremony will be held at San Siro in Milan. Ceremonies will also be held in Cortina, Livigno and Val di Fiemme.

At 8:00 p.m., SVT will broadcast the opening ceremony of the Olympics at San Siro. During the ceremony, performances will include, among others, global star Mariah Carey and Italian singer Laura Pausini.

At the same time, there are ceremonies at three other Olympic locations, in Val di Fiemme, Livigno and Cortina, reflecting that these Olympics are unusually dispersed.
