Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has once again sharply criticized Israel's war in Gaza. At a press conference ahead of the League Cup match against Newcastle, he highlighted the suffering caused by conflicts around the world, especially in Gaza.

"Never before in human history have we had information before our eyes as clearly as we do now," he says.

The Spaniard says that the images from war-torn areas have a strong impact on him.

"Killing thousands of innocent people hurts. People are dying; we have to help."

The coach adds:

"You have to kill thousands of people to defend an idea? I'm sorry. I will stand up to that. Always."

Guardiola has on several occasions expressed support for the Palestinians, used the term 'genocide' and criticized the silence of the outside world.
