Spring brings an increased risk of grass fires. A fire can easily start and spread in last year's dry grass, and SMHI urges great caution when lighting fires or working with large machinery outdoors.
Last year's grass burns readily and a spark can spread quickly in the wind.
Already on Monday, the risk of grass fires on the east coast decreased, but remains for northwestern Götaland and southwestern Värmland.
In addition to SMHI, the Swedish Civil Defence Agency also publishes updated fire risk forecasts and fire risk maps.
