"We emphasized the line that we have held since the beginning. We said that Greenland and Greenlandic society must be respected," Nielsen said at a press conference in Nuuk on Monday.
In addition to meeting Nielsen, Landry met with the US Ambassador to Denmark, Ken Howery.
"We have our red line. The Americans' starting point has not changed either," said Greenland's Foreign Minister, Múte Bourup Egede, who also attended.
Landry's visit is the first since President Donald Trump appointed him as special envoy, following Trump's January backtracking on his repeated threats to take over the island.
