After having increased during 2024 – during the first quarter of this year, the emissions of greenhouse gases in the Swedish economy decreased by 3.6 percent compared to the same period the previous year.

An important factor was that deliveries of fossil diesel decreased during the period, according to preliminary figures from SCB.

Seen from a slightly longer perspective, the emissions are still at about the same level as during the first quarter of 2022, while they have increased by 2.9 percent compared to the first quarter of 2023.
