"I have not worsened profitability," said Ebba Busch on SVT's Agenda on Sunday regarding the expansion of offshore wind power.

The Energy Minister's statement is misleading and unfounded, according to the Green Party, which is now reporting her to the Riksdag's Constitutional Committee (KU).

It is an outright lie because the government removed the support by stopping Svenska kraftnät's expansion of the national grid offshore, says Green Party MP and energy policy spokesperson Linus Lakso.

In the summer of 2023, the government proposed an amendment to a regulation with instructions to Svenska kraftnät.

The change removed Svenska kraftnät's assignment to extend cables to offshore wind farms and to cover part of the costs.

This has led companies to stop expanding fossil-free electricity production, says Linus Lakso.

"Ebba Busch is directly responsible for putting us in a worse position when we have international unrest and oil prices that are skyrocketing. To lie to voters straight to their faces on a straightforward question is gutsy."

Vattenfall's CEO Anna Borg said in an interview that, without help with the connection cost for a park like Krieger's Flak, the project will probably not be profitable.
