The Green Party is now going into the elections with the promise of a new "cultural right of access" for all students in primary and secondary schools.

Today's access to culture in schools is "a lottery", according to an MP, who wants to replace the funds available through Creative Schools with a cultural guarantee ensuring students experience professional culture every semester throughout their school years. The guarantee should cover everyone, regardless of the school they attend.

The public right of access to culture will also include an expanded cultural school and a new cultural school law, the reintroduction of aesthetic subjects in high school, and investment in rehearsal spaces around the country.

When spokesman Daniel Helldén launched the proposal this summer, he had no price tag.

Today, approximately 230 million kronor is being spent on Creative Schools, but more is needed, he told TT at the time.
