The British competition authorities have approved the merger of Vodafone Group and Three UK, a fusion valued at 15 billion pounds (equivalent to 210 billion kronor).
The decision paves the way for the companies to form the UK's largest telecom company and reduces the number of major operators in the country from four to three.
The authority has conditional approval to merge the companies with the companies signing binding agreements to invest multi-billion amounts in the expansion of 5G networks across the UK.
The proposal for the merger was presented in 2023.
