Greece's tax on bonuses and dividends in the financial sector has been cut to 5 percent, from 15 percent. One condition is that the company has operating expenses of at least three million euros per year in the country.

London-based billionaire Chris Rokos has taken the plunge and is moving his tax residency to Greece, according to the newspaper. Talks are also under way with major investors in the Gulf states, according to Vasilis Karatzas, an adviser to the finance ministry in Athens.

Greece has had an annual flat tax of 100,000 euros on profits earned abroad since 2019. Foreign citizens are also exempt from inheritance tax on assets held abroad.
