The season premiere on the LPGA tour, the "Tournament of Champions", is only for those who have won a competition during the last two seasons, and the starting field is therefore very strong.

Linnea Ström and Linn Grant are both in the starting field at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Florida. And the latter has started the season in a very impressive way.

After half of the competition, Grant is in second place, after very fine play on Friday. Several players had difficulty making birdies on the challenging course, but not the 25-year-old Swede.

Grant showed stable play during the initial six holes, before she started rolling in birdie putts. Four birdies on the following six holes took her high up on the leaderboard.

But what impressed most was when she finished with an eagle on the final hole. Friday's round was scored at 67 strokes, five under par, which means a second place with a total score of -7.

The South Korean Kim A-Lim is leading at -10.

For Linnea Ström, it's going tougher. She is last in the 32-player starting field at +7.
