Hip-hop icon and Polar Prize winner Grandmaster Flash is coming to Sweden this autumn and will perform in Stockholm on October 3 and in Gothenburg on October 4.
His new show "The 4 elements" is a visual sound performance that offers a journey through hip-hop history.
Grandmaster Flash became a pioneer in DJ circles in New York during the 1970s and his importance for the development of hip-hop culture has been portrayed in the Netflix series "The get down" (2016).
He founded the group Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, which is best known for the song "The Message" from 1982. Flash was elected to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (2007) and is an honorary doctor at several American universities.
In 2019, he was the first hip-hop artist to be awarded the Polar Prize.
