A plane with Spain's Minister of Defense on board has been subjected to a suspected disruption attack, reports Europa Press.

The military plane was on its way to a base in Lithuania when it suddenly had problems with the GPS control. On board were, among others, the Spanish Minister of Defense Margarita Robles.

The incident occurred when the plane passed over the Russian exclave Kaliningrad between Lithuania and Poland. According to Europa Press, an attempt was then made to deactivate the plane's GPS system. Thanks to the fact that the plane received signals from a military satellite, the journey could continue without problems.

Earlier in September, a plane with the President of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen on board was subjected to a similar disruption attack. According to Financial Times, the plane's GPS system was then knocked out and paper maps had to be used for landing in Bulgaria. The EU accused Russia of being behind it.
