Government wants to put managers in elderly care back in school for mandatory leadership training

Education would strengthen the work environment, reduce sick leave and create safer care and welfare for the elderly, believes Minister for the Elderly and Social Insurance Anna Tenje (M).

She compares it to the school system.

"Why should we settle for a lower level of ambition and not give the same support to managers in elderly care? We simply want training for principals," the minister said at a press conference.

The government is now appointing an inquiry into the proposal.
