We see that we need to better protect children online, and then we also need to investigate a functioning age limit so that children do not get access to material that they absolutely should not have access to, says Minister for Social Affairs Jakob Forssmed (KD) to the radio.

The possibilities of introducing a statutory age limit must at the same time be weighed against freedom of speech, according to Forssmed.

The investigation will be appointed at the beginning of autumn. The directives are not yet clear and which age it could be about is unclear.

We will have to come back to that. But the situation we have today is that we also have quite small children who are on social media platforms and are exposed four, five, six, seven hours a day to content that is absolutely not adapted for them, says Forssmed.
