Former heads of government agencies are placed in the so-called elephant graveyard at the Government Offices. They are either placed there after their agencies have been closed down or because the government has decided that the person should not remain in their post, and they remain there with full salary until their appointment expires.
"We have a system that clearly catches people's eye, where there are completely unreasonable differences between ordinary employees and those who are general managers," says Minister of Civil Service Erik Slottner (KD) on the radio.
A system of severance pay should be investigated instead. Eight people are now placed in the elephant graveyard.
