The government will take the initiative to formulate a "zero vision" against men's violence against women. In addition, a special ministerial council will be established, writes Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) in an op-ed in Aftonbladet.

"Every woman who dies as a result of violence by a man - whether they are or have been in a relationship or not - is a huge failure," writes Kristersson.

He will lead the council himself. In addition to a number of authorities, the Minister of Justice, the Minister of Gender Equality, the Minister of Social Affairs and the Minister of Social Services will also be part of it.

"This means that the justice system, social services and healthcare - not least psychiatry - will need to work together to take the steps needed to prevent this from happening again," the Prime Minister writes.

The government will soon present a concrete design for the zero vision and for the Council of Ministers.
