This could, for example, involve sexual assault, exploitation and gang recruitment via digital platforms.
An investigator will be tasked with, among other things, mapping out how authorities, schools, healthcare and private actors, such as platform companies, can work to prevent children from being exposed to violence in digital environments.
"Children should be safe in all environments they are in, including digital environments," says Minister of Social Services Camilla Waltersson Grönvall (M) in a press release, and continues:
"Children have the right to be protected from all forms of violence. When violence, abuse and exploitation continue to occur online, society must stand together and strengthen the protection of children."
