The Government Offices purchased transports for over 7 million kronor in 2023. In many cases, it was about personal transports at so-called high-level meetings where the police require personal protection and escort driving, for example, at a summit with several NATO countries.
In 2022, the permit for the company in question to conduct taxi traffic was revoked with immediate effect. The Transport Agency considered that the company and its then traffic manager were unsuitable, among other things, because vehicles had not been reported as taxi traffic.
However, the company continued to drive and claims that it does not conduct taxi operations, that it is instead about transports according to agreements with customers.
The employee at the Government Offices is prosecuted for a crime against the taxi traffic law. According to the indictment, the person was aware that the company lacked a taxi permit or had reasonable grounds to assume it.
A former representative of the transport company as well as a representative of a collaborative company are also prosecuted for conducting taxi traffic without a permit.
All three deny the crime, according to the investigation.
