"The Government Offices have been in contact with NATO to get the notebook back on track, but since this has not yet happened, we consider it a lost cause," the Government Offices' press service wrote in an email to TT.

It was last week that Dagens Nyheter reported that National Security Adviser Niclas Kvarnström had forgotten a notepad during the NATO summit in Ankara earlier in July.

The notebook was left in premises where NATO was responsible for security, according to the Government Offices, which assesses that it did not contain any classified information.

"Therefore, no damage assessment has been made, in accordance with the Government Offices' safety regulations," the press service writes in the email.
