The Government will "strengthen and speed up" the development of the Defence Forces' drone protection, writes Defence Minister Pål Jonson (The Moderate Party) on X.
Over five billion kronor is invested in more anti-drone systems and a development of the combat aircraft Jas 39 Gripen's capability.
The delivery time for the anti-drone systems is shortened by eight years compared to the previous plan, from 2036 to 2028. The investment means, among other things, more weapons and sensors for the combat of hostile drones. The Gripen aircraft will also receive more spare parts and mission equipment, the Government writes in a press release.
The financing of the billion investment was previously announced in the spring amendment budget.
