Back in December 2020, the Riksdag decided to reinstate A9 in Kristinehamn after it was closed in 2000.
"In April 2026, the Fortifications Agency requested the government's consent to invest in land infrastructure and new construction of the entire new regiment. The project is under way," the government writes.
“Construction will start gradually during 2027–2030.
"Until the new construction at the permanent location in Kristinehamn is complete, operations will take place in temporary premises in the area," the government adds.
