The assignment is part of a five-year reading strategy that the government presented on Thursday.
This is a direction that the whole of society needs to move in, says Minister of Education Simona Mohamsson (L).
Strengthening the reading skills of children and young people as well as access to quality literature are two goals, according to the government, which, however, is not announcing any new funding.
"You can't do everything at once. I think this is the government that has invested the most money in promoting reading in general," says Liljestrand.
