There is a water shortage on Gotland. The region is therefore urging tourists to skip the shower and wash in the sea instead.
Region Gotland, together with several hotels on the island, has a collaboration to save water, reports Aftonbladet .
We provide free saltwater soap to guests and encourage them to bathe in the sea and wash there instead, says Johan Gustafsson, sustainability manager for Region Gotland, to the newspaper.
The saltwater soap can be picked up at the tourist office in Visby and at the hotels we collaborate with.
