Irrigation ban is introduced on the entire Gotland from April 15 and will apply until further notice. This is to ensure the drinking water supply, writes Region Gotland on its website.
The ban applies to all those connected to the region's water supply network. Even those with private water sources are urged to conserve water.
"This is an exceptional year. Our water sources have not recovered as they usually do during the autumn and winter, and we are entering the summer with already critically low levels", says the region's unit manager Patrik Johansson in a press release.
