The woman has been renting a 144-square-meter apartment with four rooms in central Gothenburg for SEK 25,000 per month since 2024. At the same time, the negotiated rent from April 2025 is SEK 13,726.
The company that rents out the apartment agrees to part of the refund, but says the apartment has been renovated and that it is therefore entitled to a surcharge.
The rent committee sides with the tenant, but finds that the company is entitled to charge a surcharge of SEK 150 per month for heating and electricity.
