The raids took place early on Wednesday morning at different locations in northeastern Gothenburg.
Some of the detainees are known to the police from before – and more arrests may become relevant in the future. This is what Johan Sjöstrand, acting local police chief in Greater Gothenburg northeast, tells TT.
The suspicion right now is aggravated money laundering and money laundering. Since we cannot rule out that other criminal charges may be added when we have analyzed the investigative work more thoroughly, says Sjöstrand.
The police state in a press release that "large quantities of valuable goods" have been seized in connection with the raids. However, due to the investigative situation, one "cannot be too generous with information about the case", according to Sjöstrand.
The raids were the result of an investigative work that has been ongoing for over a year, where they have also collaborated with the Southern Police Region.
