Around 19 hectares of forest have been burning in the area since 5 pm. At midnight, the fire service announced that the operation would continue throughout the night but would not involve active extinguishing work.
"We will not actively extinguish the fire; it is too dangerous terrain for that," says alarm and control operator Joakim Hallin to Göteborgs-Posten.
Fire helicopters will assist in the work on Sunday morning, the newspaper reports.
According to the fire service, the smoke from the fire is not "particularly dangerous," but if people feel uncomfortable, they should avoid it.
